This thank you is a little overdue, but we would like to thank to everyone at Audio Visionaries and Craftsman Basement Finish. The theater and basement are AMAZING!

I would also like to thank all the folks over at AVS Forum, a great group of theater junkies sharing their insights on what works (and what doesn’t).

The back fabric wall is complete. I have been procastinating over the project. Once the theater was up and running my motivation to continue to work on it disappeared. But here it is…

Back Wall complete

It was a busy week, but I got all the frames built and put in place.

Once the theater was up and running my motivation to work on it dropped dramatically. Well, I have the bug again. I built the first of seven fabric panels for the front false wall. It was easier than I expected, so I hope the next 6 go much faster.

With phase one complete (the contractor’s work), phase two (my work) is underway. Basically what needs to be done is to build the false wall to hide the speakers and hang the screen on, wire up all the speakers and the projector (if the connectors ever arrive) , hang all the concert/music memorbilia, etc, etc, etc.

The framing for the false wall is underway. The hard part is done, now I just need to put up the rest of the studs. I also got the theater sign hung today.

The contruction of the theater is complete. The gear has been moved. All that remains is to unpack it all, hook it all up, hang the screen and stop having to watch movies on the TV upstairs. I am guessing a few more weeks until the theater is operational. Some parts have yet to arrive and there is still a great deal of unpacking to be done. But we are SO pleased with the results so far.

Here are some more pictures from the end of contruction and the beginnings of the unpacking.

I finally got around to posting some pictures of the theater contruction here. Paint should go up today and I am guessing a week or two until they are done!

I finally have put pen to paper and the first iteration of the theater design is ready. AVS Forum is a great place to find out anything and everything about theaters and AV in general. I posted the layout and a few open questions here for critique from the group.

There are a few things every home theater needs: Official Signage, and a Popcorn Popper!

Another new addition – some color! A Tibetian “bottle cap” rug, a wedding present from Brian’s parents!

We bit the bullet and purchased proper theater furniture. A pair of Jaymar 55000 recliners and a matching Jaymar ‘Armani’ sofa. All in black leather and VERY comfy.

We also found out that our local cable company is offering a few Hi Def channels for an amazingly reasonable (especially for Adelphia) $10 a month! So we took the plunge and Hi Def is simply amazing!
