We were well prepared to weather the day outside in the extremely hot (for Colorado) weather all day – a few frozen bottles of water, a blanket and some camp chairs, totally fit the bill. Oh – and Brian had to prepare for being one of the few non-gay men in the audience. Typical of an Ani show – though she is now happily married with 1 kid, she still pulls a primarily female/feminist/lesbian audience.
There were two local openers – who at least originally were from Colorado – and then the “real” opener: Melissa Ferrick. She was quite good – we’ll have to pick up some of her stuff! Ani’s set was great – worth waiting through the hot day for. Some new tunes – and some great old stuff as well.
