We liked the first season of Last Comic Standing – and have seen John Heffron a couple of times since his season #1 win – and we’ve been hooked into this latest season of the show. So – when we saw that Kristen Key was coming to town – really Colorado Springs not Denver – we had to go!
Tickets weren’t bad – and it was refreshing to be back at Loonees (we used to go frequently when we first moved to COS) now that it is a smoke free venue! Kristen’s set was good – a bit more raw than she comes across on TV (or perhaps more raw than she’s allowed to be on network tv!). What was suprising however was the overall consistancy of the set -> from the Opener, to the second Opener to the featured comic – Mike Merryfield – to the headliner Kristen. A really solid set of performances from the entire group left us in a good mood with a belly full of laughs. (And trying to quote some of our favorite lines in the parking lot – of course.)
Maybe its time to get back in the habit of going to comedy shows…
