Take Highway 24 up from Colorado Springs through Woodland Park – on up to Hartsel (on the “back way” up to Breckenridge) – and you’ll find the best reason to make it up the hill before 7pm on a Friday: Dorothy’s Tamales.
We’re particularly fond of the Buffalo – though they have other varieties. (Most drives you can see a few bison roaming the land on your way into or out of Hartsel… “Looks like dinner!”)
A Dorothy’s haiku:
Ahead – Dorothy’s.
“Are you feeling hungry yet?”
“You know it. Let’s stop.”
