The Home Theater Evolution
(Blankenship Theaters)
“Better living thru modern, expensive electronic devices”
In the beginning…
There was a small (relatively speaking) TV and a very nice sound system. Then inspiration hit and over the next several months and years our basement began to evolve…
We knew when we saw the finished basement of the house that it was going to turn into our “entertainment room.” The walls are covered with posters and other music memorabilia. The initial challenge was finding enough room for our [ok, mainly Brian’s] extensive CD collection.
To address that: One of the first projects in the basement was taking the old built-in shelving the prior owner had used as TV / VCR and media shelving – and turning it into an illuminated DVD/CD rack. The rope lighting tucked in a thin lip around the shelf is a nice touch – particularly when the other lights in the room are turned off.
